Archiving Policy

1. Overview

Jurnal Pengabdian dan Inovasi is committed to the long-term preservation and permanent accessibility of all scholarly content published in the journal. We recognize that digital preservation is essential to safeguarding the academic record and ensuring that research and community service innovations remain available to future generations of readers, researchers, and practitioners.

This Archiving Policy outlines the measures and practices the journal employs to preserve, archive, and ensure continued access to its published content.

2. Digital Preservation

2.1 PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

As a journal using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, Jurnal Pengabdian dan Inovasi actively participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN).

The PKP PN provides a secure, distributed, LOCKSS-based preservation system that guarantees all published content remains accessible even if the journal's main website becomes unavailable. Through this network, all published articles are automatically archived in a distributed network of preservation nodes, ensuring:

  • Long-term storage of all published content.

  • Continued access to journal content even in the event of technical failures or system changes.

  • Protection against data loss and institutional discontinuation.

2.2 LOCKSS and CLOCKSS Systems

Jurnal Pengabdian dan Inovasi utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system, developed by Stanford University Libraries. LOCKSS creates a distributed archiving system among participating libraries, allowing them to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

In addition to LOCKSS, the journal also participates in the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) initiative. CLOCKSS operates as a community-managed, distributed dark archive with trigger access. This ensures that even in the unlikely event of journal cessation, the complete digital archive will be automatically triggered and made openly available to the public, guaranteeing perpetual access to published research.

2.3 Server Backups and Data Security

All journal content is regularly backed up on secure servers to prevent data loss and ensure system recovery in the event of failure. This preservation system provides protection against data loss and secures access to the journal's publications even in the event of technical failures or system changes.
