1. Copyright Ownership

Jurnal Pengabdian dan Inovasi adheres to an open-access publishing model that respects and protects the intellectual property rights of authors.

Authors retain copyright to their published work. By submitting a manuscript to the journal, authors grant Jurnal Pengabdian dan Inovasi the right of first publication and the authority to distribute the work under a Creative Commons license.

This approach ensures that:

  • Authors maintain ownership and control over their scholarly work.

  • The journal can legally disseminate the content to a global audience.

  • Readers and the public can access, share, and build upon the published research, provided they give appropriate credit to the original authors.

2. License

All articles published in Jurnal Pengabdian dan Inovasi are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

2.1 What Does CC BY-SA 4.0 Mean?

Condition Description
Attribution (BY) Users must give appropriate credit to the original author(s), provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Users may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the user or their use.
ShareAlike (SA) If users remix, transform, or build upon the material, they must distribute their contributions under the same license as the original.

2.3 Why CC BY-SA?

Jurnal Pengabdian dan Inovasi chose the CC BY-SA license because it:

  • Promotes the widest possible dissemination of community service and innovation research.

  • Encourages collaboration and adaptation while ensuring that derivative works remain openly accessible.

  • Balances author rights with public benefit, supporting the journal's commitment to open access.

3. Author Rights and Permissions

Authors who publish with Jurnal Pengabdian dan Inovasi retain significant rights to use and share their own published articles.

Under this policy, authors are permitted to:

  1. Reproduce their article for personal use, teaching, or presentation at conferences.

  2. Distribute copies of their article to colleagues and research networks.

  3. Post their article on institutional repositories, personal websites, or social media platforms, provided they acknowledge the journal as the original publisher.

  4. Include their article in a thesis, dissertation, or book chapter.

  5. Reuse figures, tables, and data from their article in future publications.

Attribution Requirement: In all cases, authors must acknowledge that the article was first published in Jurnal Pengabdian dan Inovasi and provide appropriate citation.

4. Publisher Rights

Jurnal Pengabdian dan Inovasi (the publisher) is granted the following rights upon publication:

  • Right of First Publication: The journal has the exclusive right to be the first publisher of the work.

  • Distribution Rights: The journal may distribute the article through its website, databases, indexing services, and partner platforms.

  • Archiving Rights: The journal may preserve the article in digital archives to ensure long-term accessibility.

  • Legal Protection: The journal may take appropriate legal action to protect the integrity of the published work and the journal's reputation.

These rights are granted non-exclusively, meaning authors retain the freedom to use their work in other contexts as described in Section 3 above.

5. Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA)

Authors are required to complete a Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA) upon acceptance of their manuscript.

5.1 Key Provisions of the CTA

  • Authors retain copyright to their work.

  • Authors grant the journal the right of first publication and the authority to distribute the work under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

  • Authors warrant that:

    • The manuscript is original and has not been published previously.

    • The manuscript contains no unlawful content.

    • The manuscript does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

    • The manuscript has not been generated by AI tools without proper human oversight and attribution.

  • Authors confirm that all listed co-authors have approved the final version and agree to its submission.

5.2 How to Submit the CTA

  • The corresponding author will receive the CTA form via email upon acceptance of the manuscript.

  • The completed and signed CTA must be returned to the editorial office before the manuscript proceeds to publication.

  • Manuscripts will not be published until a fully executed CTA has been received.

The views and opinions expressed in articles published in Jurnal Pengabdian dan Inovasi are solely those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of the journal, its editors, or its publisher. The journal assumes no responsibility for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the published content.
